Spring/Summer 2009: Three large post oak trees died last year.
We felled these trees and cut them in pieces, which we gave to a friend. Three years' worth of wood
for domestic use, so we were told. This left us with three imposing stumps.
Several attempts have been made to eliminate the stumps, with some success, as testified by the trunk chunks seen here.
We appear to have reached a plateau in our efforts. Aaron and I leave for Moldova in one week
and I'd like to get these stumps resolved before we depart.
31 July 09: The matter has been resolved with the use of a stump grinder. It was gratifying to see the chain saws used
by the tree service get bogged down and pinched by the same trees that I had been working on.
I took down two trees in July that were leaning into the house. There is one more to go.
