27 January 2007: A visit with my good friends Juston and Terry, whom I met for the first time today.
As I approached their home, I beheld this black Trans Am. (Previous stop: Lewisville Muffler).
Beautiful wheels on this TA, but the rest of the car needs attention
The fact that this bird is a 1976, like mine, compounds my distress.
But I am not here to look at cars; I am here to visit my new friends, and their two exceedingly energetic Dachunds.
Two of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Terry is scheduled for back surgery on Monday. Four to six month recovery time is probable.
Even so, she walked to the car for these photos.
Juston had a brain tumor removed about six months ago. I learned about Juston from a posting on the KLUV radio station website, and I learned about the posting from Kris at the ISI imaging facility where all my MRIs are performed. It seems that Terry made Juston's wishes known: he wanted to take a ride in a muscle car. And he is looking for a muscle car of his own; namely a 1965 Mustang.
Time to mount up, and take a ride...
...a ride to lunch. A hamburger never tested any better.
Judging by the crowd at the restaurant, most people in The Colony feel the same way.
Larry's staff could not spare the time for a photograph or two, but as we were leaving the restaurant, a young mom indicated that her husband was "drooling" over the car. John and family were more than happy to get these shots,
along with the pics taken with their cell phone.
It is important for the Mrs. to understand and comprehend the importance of a vehicle such as this one to the male of the species.
The roar of the engine brought out the usual ear to ear grin.
You can see that John's son is headed down the right path. While dad, mom and sis are looking at the camera, he is looking at the car!
Next stop: a return trip to EFW in honor of three special friends.
