25 August 2007: Time to retreive the Trans Am from Kwik Kar following Phase 2 of a minor restoration activity.
Previous event for the TA was a triple car wash in early August.
The engine bay was cleaned. Still needs work, but a noticable improvement has been achieved by Brian.
The Eagle has now arrived at Highland VIllage, TX for a show sponsored by CARS.
I had attended a similar event in July of last year...
...but this time Andrew accompanied me in his customized Mustang GT.
My bird was voted best in class for 1970s vehicles. I had heavily lobbied for my machine to people who stopped by to look at the TA. I pointed out that this Trans Am is an authenic 31 year automotive survivor. Some people voted for #48 (my entry number)
right then and there. One lady went to see the judges and changed her vote to my car. Several guys told me of the
Trans Ams they used to own - and what a mistake they had made in selling their TAs.
I also extolled the virtues of Andrew's GT as opportunity permitted. His car won best of show for 1980s and later!
Next Stop: a series of automotive and non-automotive maintenance tasks.
